Reconsidering Hegemony: Anthropology in the Era of Hope and Fear
Celebrating New Books by Members of SANA & ABA
at the 2010 SANA-ABA Conference
If you have published a book since January 2008 and would like to have
that book celebrated and displayed at the spring conference April 15-17,
2010 in Denver we invite you to be part of this festive event. We
are hosting a reception and book party at which books published in
2008 or later will be displayed in a celebratory atmosphere peopled
by colleagues very likely to read or assign your books. We will also be
announcing the winner of the SANA book prize – the Delmos Jones and Jagna
Sharff Memorial Prize for the Critical Study of North America at this event.
What do you need to do?
- Send an email to Sandi Morgen (smorgen@uoregon.edu)
that indicates your intent to participate and the name/publisher/date of
publication of the book (for the program) by January 30, 2010.
- Register for and attend the conference.
- Bring a copy of your book and something to display it on.
- Arrange with your publisher to do a flyer offering a
conference discount price to people who order it at the conference
(like the 20% discount). Because we are not able to offer a sales representative
it might need to be a flyer that they send in within a specified period of time,
or that you collect and send in. Bring copies of the flyer with you and the book!
- Join your colleagues with a toast to our collective endeavors!
